About Les Itinérantes

Native american music

Les Itinérantes is a unique French female vocal trio formed in 2017, composed of Manon Cousin, Pauline Langlois de Swarte, and Élodie Pont. They are renowned for their a cappella performances, drawing strength from a diverse repertoire that spans ancient music, French chanson, and world music, encompassing over fifty different languages, some of which are extinct or invented. While their work is eclectic, it includes interpretations of Native American music, such as the "Lakota Lullaby". The trio aims to create a powerful, ritual-like live experience through original arrangements and compositions, exploring themes of women, nature, travel, and imagination. In recent endeavors, Les Itinérantes released their third album, "Origines," on January 19, 2024, which served as the official album for the Folle Journée de Nantes 2024 festival. They are also preparing a new album titled "Hysterae" for a 2026 release. The group achieved significant recognition in June 2023, winning both the first prize in the acoustic category and the Grand Prix at the Tampere Vocal Music Festival. Les Itinérantes are actively touring with scheduled concerts throughout 2026, including appearances at events like SXSW London. Additionally, one of the members, Élodie Pont, is composing the original soundtrack for the documentary "The Wolf and the Schoolboy" in 2025.
