Lee Ann Roberts is a South African-born, Amsterdam-based artist known for her energetic and engaging hard techno and acid techno sound, which often incorporates subtlety and soul. Her musical journey began with a radio show on Cape Town's Mutha FM in 2010, eventually leading her to Los Angeles and then to Amsterdam, where she has become a prominent force in the global techno scene. Roberts launched her own label, NowNow Records, in 2021, which serves as a platform for her own productions and to support other artists. Her debut single "Miyamoto" on Suara in 2020 reached number two on Beatport's Hard Techno Chart, and she has since released on labels such as Octopus, Blackworks, and Gomboc Records. In her latest endeavors, Roberts continues to tour extensively, with upcoming shows at Fabric London, Space Miami, VW Arena in Istanbul, and Mixmag at ADE, alongside Indian and Asian tours in late 2024. She is also dedicating efforts to rejuvenating her NowNow Records brand with a merchandising overhaul and captivating redesign, and she curated a show in Amsterdam during ADE on October 19th at Noordwaards venue. Her recent EP, "Always In Flux," delves into themes of transformation and reflection. She also contributed the track "Only Us" to KEYI's "Sonic Reflections V/A" compilation in early 2024, with proceeds benefiting charities. Lee Ann Roberts also recently participated in an RA Exchange podcast discussing her tough childhood and how music helped her, and reflecting on the evolving hard techno scene in 2025. Upcoming event listings also show her performing in late 2025 and early 2026 in various locations including Berlin, Hamburg, and London.
