Klaxons were an English alternative dance and indie rock band widely recognized as pioneers of the mid-2000s "new rave" movement, blending punk-funk energy with sci-fi psychedelia and euphoric electronic synth-pop. They shot to mainstream prominence with their Mercury Prize-winning 2007 debut album, *Myths of the Near Future*, followed by records like *Surfing the Void* and *Love Frequency*. Although the band went on an indefinite hiatus following their final tour in 2014 and 2015, their former members have since moved on to independent creative endeavors, with keyboardist James Righton pursuing solo electronic music projects and remaining celebrated for defining an iconic, neon-soaked era of alternative club culture.
