Kingfishr is an Irish indie-folk trio from Limerick, formed in 2022, consisting of Eddie Keogh (vocals, guitar), Eoghan 'McGoo' McGrath (banjo), and Eoin 'Fitz' Fitzgibbon (guitar/bass). Their music blends traditional Irish folk with indie and pop influences, creating a cinematic soundscape with powerful vocals, catchy melodies, and emotive storytelling. They have been compared to artists like U2, Ben Howard, and Mumford and Sons. The band met while studying engineering at the University of Limerick and pride themselves on writing, producing, and recording their music independently from their home studio on a dairy farm. Their song "Killeagh" reached Number 1 on the Irish Singles Chart in May 2025 and has been certified 4-times Platinum in Ireland. Kingfishr released their debut album, 'Halcyon', on August 22, 2025, which also hit #1 on the Irish album charts. They have had a significant year, including performing at major festivals like Glastonbury, Reading, Leeds, Electric Picnic, Isle of Wight, and Rock Werchter. They have also supported artists such as Bruce Springsteen, George Ezra, Dermot Kennedy, James Bay, Tom Walker, and Snow Patrol. In October 2025, they performed on RTE's Late Late Show, performing their new single and discussing their journey from college parties to international stages. They are currently amidst a second North American tour and have announced three concerts in Ireland for summer 2026, including shows in Belfast, Cork, and Dublin. Due to high demand, they have also upgraded venues for their debut Australian tour in March 2026.
