About the artist

A London band lacking any Londoners, the five lads in Kid Violet hail from the far-flung reaches of Italy, New Zealand, Poland (and Nottingham) but call Hackney and East London their home. Raised by a 60’s Soul Loving Father and an ex-punk Mother who sound tracked the school run with Siouxsie and The Fall, as Lead singer Billy puts it; “We write music to tug at your heartstrings and blow your face off”. Formed in mid-2019, Kid Violet went from 5-person pub sets to a sold out 300 cap Nambucca set in the space of 8 months and after being named as one of This Feeling’s Big in 2020 bands, Covid could not have come at a worse time. A couple of line up changes and a whole heap of Post-Punk record purchases later, Kid Violet are back with a new image, new sound and an even deeper desire to tear the roof off venues up and down the UK with their blistering live sets. Their upcoming “Concrete Dreams EP” is recorded and produced by Gavin Monaghan of The Blinders, Editors and Sherlocks fame. Recorded at Magic Garden Studios, the record blends influences such as Joy Division, Interpol, Fontaines DC and Shame with their own style of gut-wrenching lyrics and hooks. Concrete Dreams battles with the themes of lost and toxic love, mental health and the best nights you can’t remember. Ultimately, this is a record for anyone who has ever had the feeling of the big nights, bright lights and new friends that London or any other city brings yet has never felt more alone.
