Kennebec is the creative vessel of composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Eric Phillips, whose work delivers a lush, boundary-pushing blend of globally inspired ambient chamber-folk, alternative jazz, and downtempo hip-hop. Following collaborations with artists such as Samuel T. Herring , Sudan Archives , Yazz Ahmed , and Alfa Mist and working on soundtracks as Eric Phillips for acclaimed projects like The Holdovers and Barack Obama’s Netflix series Working—Phillips returns with The Water Wheel (out November 7), a conceptually rich third album exploring impermanence, love, and the cycles of time. The record is both a cathartic celebration of life and a soothing balm for turbulent times.
