About Kate NV

Kate NV, the solo project of Kate Shilonosova, is known for her boundary-defying music and artistic versatility. A trained architect, visual artist, and multi-instrumentalist, she blends electronic soundscapes with a playful, avant-garde sensibility. She is an alumna of the Red Bull Music Academy (2014) and a member of both the post-punk band Glintshake and art-pop duo Decisive Pink, alongside Angel Deradoorian. Her inspirations, ranging from Russian children’s films and Sailor Moon to John Cage, infuse her work with whimsy and depth. Albums like Binasu (2016) and дляFOR (2018) explore frenetic pop and minimalist instrumentals. Room for the Moon (2020) introduced polished New Wave pop inspired by Russian conceptualism and Japanese City Pop, while WOW(2022) transformed everyday moments into kaleidoscopic soundscapes. Beyond music, Kate NV’s vivid visual aesthetics amplify her surreal, playful creations. Critically acclaimed for balancing spontaneity with precision, her recordings and dynamic live performances cement her as a leading voice in contemporary music.
