About KABEAUSHÉ

KABEAUSHÉ is the alter ego of Kenyan artist and producer Kabochi Gitau, known for an eccentric and theatrical blend of experimental pop, hip-hop, and electronica, infused with elements of psych-soul, gospel, trap, and freak funk. Originally from Nairobi and now based in Berlin, KABEAUSHÉ's music is characterized by its raw, zany, and energetic sound, often featuring manipulated vocals and a bold approach to songwriting. His live performances are renowned for their electrifying energy and audience engagement, with the alter ego "The Shé" often emerging to create a celebratory and communal experience. KABEAUSHÉ released his debut album, *The Coming of Gaze*, in May 2023 through the Nyege Nyege sub-label Hakuna Kulala, followed by his sophomore album, *Hold On To Deer Life, There's A Blcak Boy Behind You!*, in November 2023 via Monkeytown Records, which earned the Polyton Music Prize and VIA VUT Award. His latest endeavors include the forthcoming album, *KABEAUSHÉ PRESENTS: IGGY SWAGGERING UNGRATEFUL INCESSANT LITTLE PEEEAAAAAAA*, set to release on February 27, 2026. This upcoming album introduces a flamboyant anti-hero named Herr Iggy, ruling a fictional "Doerf Kingdom," and is accompanied by a visual world inspired by early German cinema and silent-film aesthetics. Recent singles from this project include "I DON'T NEED YOU, SO YOU COULD TELL ME IF I'M GUD" and "WE HAVE OURSELVES A SHEKDOWN," released in November 2025. KABEAUSHÉ has performed at notable festivals such as Roskilde, The Great Escape, Rock en Seine, and Nyege Nyege Festival, and has collaborated with institutions like the Komische Oper in Berlin.
