Jivko Petrov is a highly influential Bulgarian pianist, composer, arranger, and producer known for his refined style that blends jazz, classical, and pop elements into a distinctive musical voice. He is particularly recognized for his work with the Jivko Petrov Trio (JP3), which he founded in 2007, and which has since become one of Bulgaria's most acclaimed jazz ensembles. The trio's album "On the Way" (2022) was among the most played jazz albums on US and Canadian radio in 2023. In his latest endeavors, Jivko Petrov is set to release "Beyond the Flesh," the sixth studio album by JP3, on April 2, 2025. This album features 11 original compositions, many of which were initially conceived as music for director Dimitar Stoyanovich's film "Flesh," for which he also has an original soundtrack album "Flesh" due in 2025. Additionally, he collaborated with Daniela Belcheva on the single "Everything I Wanted You To Be," released in April 2024. Petrov's extensive discography also includes "20 Preludes for the Piano" (2022). He has made significant contributions to the Bulgarian music scene as a producer, shaping the careers of many prominent artists.
