From Knaresborough, North Yorkshire, 22-year-old Jess Senior started recording covers in a local Studio at 16-years old where one of the producers felt inspired by Jess’s aura the night he met her and offered to co-write on a song together; leading to continuously making music until the age of 19. Now Jess Senior is an independent artist working with a local producer in Doncaster, MNKN. Her newly released music intertwines a variety of genres with a poetic, mature approach and are recorded in a tiny studio room with stimuli all around to provoke writing processes. Song-writing about real-life experiences and delving into trauma whilst using her synesthesia to make her music come alive; each song adopts a metaphoric and cinematic approach. Jess aims to create interpretative music that makes her listeners feel heard and have the chance to connect whilst not feeling alone. Her latest release ‘My Love’ talks about depression as a third person and how her partner helped her out of this, however depression is constantly looming over Jess's head and attempting to lure her back in to its bad habits and thought processes. The outro symbolises the synaesthetic experience of depression taking over again, screaming and hypnotising her back into depression. Jess Senior has been played numerous times on local BBC introducing shows, Yorkshire radio stations, and even had one of her covers of ‘She’s Casual’ be liked by The Hunna band themselves. More music is known to be coming soon.
