About the artist

After years of posting his acoustic cover songs online, British singer-songwriter James TW drew the attention of pop star Shawn Mendes, who helped him earn a major-label record deal. ∙ His first-ever performance was at age ten, sitting in with his father’s wedding band after their drummer cancelled just before a gig. ∙ While still in high school, he released his 2014 debut EP, Just A Number, which cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart. ∙ The 2016 hit “When You Love Someone”—written from the perspective of explaining divorce to a child—rose to No. 28 on Billboard’s Adult Top 40 chart.
