About James Carrington

James Carrington is a UK-born singer-songwriter and composer, often compared to artists like David Gray, Damien Rice, John Mayer, James Taylor, and Paul McCartney. He gained significant recognition when his song "Ache" was featured in popular US television series such as *Smallville*, *ER*, and *The Vampire Diaries*, leading to millions of plays on streaming platforms and YouTube. His music also appeared in Werner Herzog's film *Rescue Dawn* with the song "Lights," and his debut album, "The Dreamers Machine," was recorded at notable studios and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer James Guthrie. More recently, Carrington has been involved in the "Let's Be Bees" project, creating original music for children and parents with Jesse String, and is developing a music-learning app called "Letzplay". He has also launched "The James Carrington Teaching Project," a series of online masterclasses. After overcoming a substance use disorder, he made a return to the stage in Los Angeles in May 2025, performing at Hotel Cafe and sharing new music inspired by his recovery. An album titled "A Quiet Place in Bright Sunshine" was released in December 2025. He recently had the honor of filling in for Ralph McTell and singing "Streets of London" at a memorial service.
