ili, whose real name is Emily Middlemas, is a Scottish singer-songwriter known for her authentic and emotive pop music, often featuring elements of alt-pop and mainstream pop. She first gained public recognition as an X Factor semi-finalist before rebranding as ili in 2019. Her music is characterized by memorable melodies, lively beats, and emotionally resonant lyrics, drawing influences from R&B and electronic music. Her debut EP, "Changes," was released in 2019, featuring singles like "A Little Bit," "Changes," and "Tom Cruise." Following this, ili continued to release new music, including the single "Breath" in May 2020 and "Time Goes By" in 2022. More recently, she released the EP "It's Giving..." in 2024. In her personal life, ili married fellow singer Ryan Lawrie in 2025, following their engagement in 2022.
