About the artist

Christian rock

Icon For Hire is an American rock band from Decatur, Illinois, formed in 2007, consisting of singer Ariel Bloomer and lead guitarist Shawn Jump. While often associated with Christian rock, their musical style also incorporates alternative rock, rap rock, pop punk, electronic rock, and alternative metal elements. The band initially released two EPs independently before signing with Tooth & Nail Records, through which they released their albums "Scripted" (2011) and "Icon for Hire" (2013). They later became independent in 2015, citing creative differences with their label. Since their departure from Tooth & Nail, Icon For Hire has successfully utilized crowdfunding to produce their albums. Their third album, "You Can't Kill Us," was independently released in 2016, followed by "Amorphous" in 2021, and their fifth studio album, "The Reckoning," on September 30, 2022. "The Reckoning" features collaborations with artists like Keith Wallen of Breaking Benjamin. In terms of recent endeavors, the band toured in support of "The Reckoning" and in late 2022, they served as the opening act for Finnish band The Rasmus on their "Live and Never Die '22" tour in Europe. While there are mentions of past 2024 tour dates, as of October 2025, there are no upcoming shows listed on Live Nation. Ariel Bloomer also engages in mental health advocacy and the band is known for fostering a strong community with their fanbase.
