Holy Youth Movement ( HYM ) are a 5 piece band hailing from Bristol, consisting of Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keyboards and Vocals. Their sound is a heavy mix of Rock n Roll and Electronica fuelled by Dance Floor Rhythms, driving Bass and a huge wall of Synthesizers and Guitars, all topped off with soaring anthemic Vocals and melodies. Citing bands like Primal Scream, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Stooges and dance acts like The Chemical Brothers & Underworld as major influences, H.Y.M have managed to combine elements of both Rock n Roll and Dance / Electronica into their immense sound. After writing songs & developing their new sound they approached legendary Producer Jagz Kooner (who has worked with the likes of Primal Scream, Kasabian, Oasis as well as a host of Dance luminairies such as Andrew Weatherall, The Sabres Of Paradise & Soulwax ) to take care of production duties on all their songs. Jagz was instantly hooked after hearing the album demos and totally blown away when he saw the band in rehearsals. He commented that they were one of the best live bands he'd ever seen and said the music was the perfect amalgamation of what he best described as “Electronic Rock n Roll”.
