About the artist

Hallan are a Portsmouth four-piece fusing post-punk urgency with synth-driven flair and biting social commentary. Frontman Conor Clements’ stark lyricism, set against the angular guitar of Josh Ransley, the driving bass of Josh Tweedale, and the explosive drumming of Adam Mills, has marked the band out as one of the UK’s most distinctive new voices. Since their formation in 2018, Hallan have grown from gritty South Coast beginnings to BBC 6 Music favourites, championed by Steve Lamacq and praised across Clash, Dork, Loud & Quiet, and The Line of Best Fit. Their 2023 EP The Noise of a Firing Gun pushed their sound into darker, synth-tinged territory, while 2024’s retrospective Completum captured the raw fire of their early years. Now in 2025, the band returns with their latest single “Lilian’s Regret”, offering a glimpse of their highly anticipated debut album due later this year. Renowned for their incendiary live shows, Hallan have sold out venues across the UK and Europe, with their recent hometown headline at The Wedgewood Rooms cementing them as one of Britain’s most vital emerging acts.
