Hæresis live history: black metal
Hæresis is a Berlin-based black metal act, also categorized as post-black metal and atmospheric black metal, known for balancing ethereal atmospheres with raw energy to create a sound that blends elements of black metal, cinematic scores, and post-metal. The band's music delivers an unparalleled blend of existential turmoil, profound discontent, and ferocious power. They are recognized for their aggressive, atmospheric, and modern sound, as well as their intense and emotionally charged live shows featuring a fusion of light and sound. Hæresis' latest major endeavor was the release of their debut full-length album, "Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum" (Latin for "If you want peace, prepare for war"), on October 10, 2025, through Vendetta Records. The album, which was three years in the making, lyrically explores themes such as postmodern alienation, the destructive influence of organized religion, and imperialist aggression, with vocalist Christin Graunke delving into the fractures of contemporary existence. It features guest vocalists Natalya Androsova and Yaryna Borynets, and was mixed and mastered by Dave Otero. Prior to the album's release, the singles "Echoes of Ashes" and "Eradicate Taciturnity" were unveiled, with "Echoes of Ashes" specifically addressing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Following the album's launch, the band embarked on a ten-day tour starting October 17, 2025. Hæresis is actively working on new material and multiple projects for future releases.
