About Gong

Gong is a legendary experimental rock collective known for their unique blend of space rock, progressive rock, krautrock, psychedelic rock, art rock, jazz fusion, and avant-garde elements, often associated with the Canterbury scene. Formed in Paris in 1967 by Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth, the band is celebrated for its quirky songs, elongated space-rock excursions, and the fantastical "Radio Gnome Invisible" mythology that weaves through their discography. In their latest endeavors, Gong is set to release their new studio album, "Bright Spirit," on March 13, 2026. This album marks the third installment in a trilogy that began with "The Universe Also Collapses" in 2019 and continued with "Unending Ascending" in 2023. The single "Stars In Heaven" was released in November 2025 as a preview of the upcoming album. The band embarked on a North American tour in Fall 2024 and has announced extensive touring plans for 2026, including UK dates in March, as well as performances at Kozfest and A New Day Festival in August 2026. They will also be co-headlining the "Sounds of the Cosmos Tour" of the UK with Henge in November 2025.
