About the artist

Gluecifer was a key band in the scandinavian rock-wave that swept across Europe 20 years ago. Gluecifer started out as a punkrock band in Oslo in 1994. A string of underground releases led to a record deal with the swedish White Jazz label, home of bands like The Hellacopters etc. This led to touring all across Europe, and eventually some tours in the US. From 1997 to 2005 Gluecifer released five studio albums, a bunch of 7» and 10», and played hundreds of shows. Extensive touring took its toll on the band, and two of the members announced their departure early 2005. With their swansong «Desolate City» released the same year, the band went off on a farewell tour that ended in New York October 2005. They promised never to return to the stages, and that was it… Fortunately Gluecifer couldn't keep that promise. In June 2018 they reunited for a headliner show at the Azkena Rock Festival in Spain. People had flown in from all over the world to see the first Gluecifer show in 13 years. This was followed by some exclusive festival appearances, and a string of sold-out shows in their hometown Oslo. The reunion shows went on for some years with more festivals and clubshows. Playing the old songs and revisiting the past led to another big question for the band. Was it time to put it all to rest once again, or was this the time to write a new chapter. Thankfully they went for the latter, and their brand new album «Same Drug New High» is set for release Jan.16 2026
