Gera MX, born Gerardo Daniel Torres Montante on July 15, 1994, is a prominent Mexican rapper and songwriter known for his impactful presence in the hip-hop and Latin trap genres. He began his career with the Mexamafia crew, initially under the name Gera MXM, before establishing himself as Gera MX and founding his own record label, Rich Vagos. His music often explores social themes, love, and the realities of street life, delivered with intense lyrics and captivating beats. Among his significant achievements, Gera MX made history in 2021 with his collaboration "Botella Tras Botella" featuring Christian Nodal, which became the first regional Mexican single to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the most-viewed official music video in Mexican rap history on YouTube. He was also ranked among the "50 Greatest Rappers in the History of Spanish-Language Rap" by Rolling Stone magazine. In his latest endeavors, Gera MX released the album "Las que te escribí y nunca te cante" in 2024. More recently, in January 2025, he released the new song "250 k," which sparked discussions online due to perceived references to fellow rapper Santa Fe Klan. As of October 2025, Gera MX is planning to release "interesting" new music and is expected to feature collaborations with artists such as Calle 24, Alemán, and Nanpa Básico, and has expressed a long-standing desire to collaborate with Eminem. He also released the song "Ferra" in June 2025.
