Formed in 2023, French Exit is a four-piece alt-rock band built on the creative partnership of brothers Will and Toby Langston. What began as a songwriting experiment quickly grew into a fully-fledged project, with like-minded musicians joining to shape a sound rooted in sharp songwriting, restless energy and a shared love of live performance. Their first single, Still, marked the beginning of a relationship with BBC Introducing that has carried through to follow-ups Yes and I Don’t Mind, each gaining support on air and culminating in the band’s debut on the BBC Introducing Stage at Sonic Boom Festival 2025, headlined by Everything Everything. Along the way, French Exit have taken their set from the grassroots scene at The Windmill in Brixton to the stage at O2 Academy Islington, earning a reputation for live shows that balance intensity with precision. In the studio, the band has built an ongoing collaboration with producer Roger Andrew Humphrey, whose work has been central in pushing their sound forward. Their visual identity has evolved alongside the music, with artwork by Chris Woodhead (Jamie T, Exlovers) re-energising family archive photography to give each release a distinctive character. Now five singles in, French Exit remain focused on refining their writing and live show, with further dates across London and beyond on the horizon and festival slots already in the works for 2026.
