Folk Bitch Trio is an Australian musical trio from Melbourne, formed in 2020, consisting of Grace Sinclair, Jeanie Pilkington, and Heide Peverelle. The band blends indie folk, indie rock, and alt-indie-rock with distinct three-part harmonies and a confessional songwriting style, often exploring the experiences and "pathetic little tragedies" of being in their twenties. They are known for their raw, unfiltered approach and their ability to combine vintage charm with a modern edge, though they resist being strictly pigeonholed into the folk genre. In recent endeavors, Folk Bitch Trio signed with Jagjaguwar in 2025 and released their critically acclaimed debut album, "Now Would Be a Good Time," on July 25, 2025. The album, which includes singles like "Cathode Ray" and "Hotel TV," garnered nominations for several 2025 ARIA Music Awards, including Best Group and Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist, as well as the 2025 Australian Music Prize. The trio has also been on extensive tours throughout North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia, supporting acts such as Alex G, Julia Jacklin, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and are slated to support Whitney on an upcoming tour.
