Farazi is a prominent Turkish modern hip-hop artist and beatmaker from Istanbul, born Burak Demir in 1990. He is known for his distinctive sound, which blends traditional Turkish music with contemporary hip-hop, creating emotive and expressive tones. His music is recognized for its unique soundscapes, complex beats, and profound lyrics. Farazi began his career in 2006 and gained significant recognition through collaborations, notably forming the group Farazi V Kayra. Together, they released several albums, including "Sarhoş Palavraları ve Nahoş Nidalar" (2007) and "Hayalet Islığı" (2013), which significantly boosted their popularity, even reaching audiences in North America. He was also a part of the 90BPM collective. In 2016, Farazi founded his own record label, Deadly Habits Music, based in the Netherlands. Among his popular songs are "Unutulanlar," "Dobro Vecer," and "Mertel Kasetcilik." His work, such as "Unutulanlar," is noted for its catchy hooks and skillful fusion of modern hip-hop with traditional Turkish themes, while "Dobro Vecer" showcases his ability to blend Eastern European influences. In recent endeavors, Farazi has continued to release music. In February 2019, an album titled "Low Level iNTELLIGENCE" with American rapper Chuuwee was announced. More recently, Farazi and Sorgu released the "Anti-Kahraman: 90 Nesli" album on November 12, 2020, through Deadly Habits Music and Below System Records. Additionally, the "Born To Die" album, which was entirely in Turkish in 2019, was re-released in 2020 as a non-exclusively Turkish version, featuring English parts by various artists. His songs continue to accumulate significant streams on platforms like Spotify, with his top tracks regularly updated, indicating ongoing listener engagement.
