About the artist

Indie

Ex-Otago is an Italian indie pop band formed in Genoa in 2002. The band debuted in 2003 with the English album "The Chestnuts Time," followed by their first Italian album, "Tanti saluti," in 2007. They gained further recognition by participating in the Sanremo Music Festival in 2019 with the song "Solo una canzone." The current lineup includes Maurizio Carucci, Simone Bertuccini, Olmo Martellacci, and Rachid Bouchabla. In their latest endeavors, Ex-Otago released the single "La Fine" in 2023, which was followed by a club tour across Italy. They also released their album "Auguri" in 2024. The band has a history of successful collaborations and tours, with their album "Marassi" leading to numerous sold-out shows. Notably, a mural depicting the band members was created in 2020 in the Marassi neighborhood of Genoa, a tribute previously only bestowed upon artists like Fabrizio De André and Paolo Villaggio.
