About Evanescence

Alternative metal

Evanescence is an American alternative metal band, prominently known for blending powerful gothic and hard rock elements with symphonic undertones, driven by the distinctive vocals and classical training of frontwoman Amy Lee. The band gained widespread recognition with their 2003 debut album, *Fallen*, featuring hit singles like "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal," which earned them two Grammy Awards and sold millions of copies worldwide. In their latest endeavors, Evanescence released the new single "Afterlife" on March 28, 2025, which is featured in the Netflix animated series *Devil May Cry* and has quickly become their fastest-moving single to date. On June 6, 2025, they collaborated with K.Flay on "Fight Like a Girl," an empowering anthem for the *John Wick* spinoff film *Ballerina*. Additionally, Amy Lee collaborated with Halsey on the track "Hand That Feeds," also for the *Ballerina* soundtrack. The band has been actively touring, with upcoming shows including appearances on the "My Chemical Romance: The Black Parade" tour and joining Metallica on their "M72" world tour in late 2025. Evanescence also announced a new touring lineup, with Tim McCord moving to guitar and Emma Anzai of Sick Puppies joining on bass, a change Amy Lee expressed as making the band "feel complete". While no new album has been announced for the immediate future, the band is in the process of writing new songs, with Amy Lee hinting at a potential new studio album in early 2026.
