Emilia Mernes, known mononymously as Emilia, is an Argentine singer, songwriter, model, and actress who initially rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the Uruguayan cumbia pop band Rombai before launching a successful solo career. While her early work with Rombai leaned into cumbia pop, her solo career has explored urban pop, reggaeton, Latin R&B, dance pop, and trap, making her a prominent figure in the "trap argentina" genre. Her debut solo album, *Tú Crees en Mí?*, achieved Platinum certification in Argentina and featured collaborations with artists like Duki and Nicki Nicole. In 2023, she released her second album, *.MP3*, which was influenced by the 2000s and included chart-topping singles. In her latest endeavors, Emilia has been actively releasing new music and performing. She released the single "La Playlist" in June 2024, followed by "Novio Gangsta" in October 2024, which reached number 4 on the Billboard Argentina Hot 100. She also collaborated with Tiago PZK and Anitta on "Alegría" and with Ana Mena on "Carita Triste" in August 2024. Additionally, she collaborated with Lit Killah on a song released in October 2024, and with Khea on "Tú y Yo" released in February 2024. Emilia performed for the first time at the 25th Latin Grammys in November 2024 and announced a new singing role in the film "Moana 2". She also recently attended Paris Fashion Week in October 2025, where she was seen with various celebrities and shared her experiences with fans. Emilia announced her "Emilia Tour 2025" with a show in Mar del Plata, following the conclusion of her successful ".mp3 Tour". She has also been nominated for and won several awards, including two Premios Gardel and an MTV MIAW Award.
