Elly Xia is a London-based artist born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, to Chinese parents, who crafts hyper pop music influenced by EDM, indie rock, and digital culture. Her sound is a dynamic blend of her classical piano background, emo, EDM, and rave influences, creating tracks that are both playful and introspective, often using music as an outlet for emotional expression and to process experiences lyrically. Elly Xia began her musical journey with classical piano, followed by multilingual covers on YouTube, and later formed an indie rock band called Verbatim while studying in Scotland. She has released singles such as "BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT" (2024), "hellbound // running with my eyes closed" (2025), "come back // zurück // 回来" (2025), "wanted you // limerence" (2025), and "AI 愛 // do you like what you see?" (2026). Her song "come back // zurück // 回来" explores themes of identity, displacement, and generational expectations. Elly Xia is actively involved in the music scene, with plans for a trilingual song about her family's migration story and a performance at the Royal Albert Hall in November (as per information from September 2025) as a resident artist of the Music for Youth New Frequencies program.
