@Simon Shackleton—currently releasing emotive, cinematic music under his own name—first gained recognition as Elite Force, a pioneering figure in the ‘breakbeat’ and ‘nu-skool breaks’ movement of the late 1990s. Known for his eclectic DJ style, dubbed Tech-Funk, he skillfully blended House, Electro, Techno, and Breaks to create a distinctive and open-minded sound that set him apart. This versatility allowed him to evolve and push genre boundaries throughout his career. Over the years, Elite Force earned multiple Breakspoll nominations and toured extensively, with performances in China, Australia, Canada, Russia, the USA, and beyond. His music can be found not only on his own labels, Fused & Bruised and U&A Recordings, but also in films, games, immersive multimedia projects, TV shows, and advertisements. Now, as Simon Shackleton, he continues to innovate, moving into more introspective and atmospheric territory. Also known for his work as Lunatic Calm and Zodiac Cartel.
