Dr. Rubinstein, also known as Marina Rubinstein, is a Russian-born, Israeli-raised DJ now based in Berlin, celebrated for her dynamic and high-energy acid techno and acid house sets. She is recognized for her impeccable vinyl selections, which often feature hypnotic acid, 90s rave, pulsating techno, breakbeat, and vintage rave tracks, establishing her as an indispensable figure in the international electronic music scene and a "queen of acid". Having built her career organically through compelling DJ performances rather than traditional promotional avenues, she moved to Berlin in 2012 and rapidly rose to prominence, playing at renowned venues like Berghain. In 2024, Dr. Rubinstein launched her own record label, Uppers and Downers, with the release of her debut EP, "Rubi's Acid Spa," which features three high-energy acid techno tracks. Her recent endeavors also include various international performances scheduled for 2026, with stops in Berlin, London, New York, Milan, Porto, and the Dekmantel Festival in Amstelveen. She has also launched "Quarantine FM," a live-streaming project where she hosts other artists playing records from her home.
