About Domhain

Domhain is a Northern Irish atmospheric black metal project comprising four experienced musicians from the Irish metal scene. Their sound is an emotional blend of post-black, blackgaze, and atmospheric black metal, combining the intensity of black metal with the expansive qualities of shoegaze and post-metal, often featuring expressive textures, strings, and a mix of blackened rasps and haunting clean vocals. The band's music frequently evokes a strong sense of geographical identity, drawing inspiration from Northern Ireland's landscapes. Domhain released their debut full-length album, "In Perfect Stillness," on February 20, 2026, through These Hands Melt. This follows their 2023 debut mini-album "Nimue" and their split EP "Of Pine And Oak" with Ephemeral, released in May 2025, which featured the single "Footsteps." The band is also known for its strong visual aesthetic, with conceptual music videos created by their drummer and visual director, Anaïs Chareyre-Méjan. They have toured with artists like Saor and performed at events such as Fortress Festival.
