About the artist

Defecto is a Copenhagen-based metal band formed in 2011 by guitarist/vocalist Nicklas Sonne, guitarist Frederik Møller, and bassist Thomas Bartholin. From the beginning, the band shaped a sound rooted in heavy, melodic metal with progressive and cinematic undertones. Over the years, Defecto has released three full-length albums, 2 EP’s and played multiple live shows, combining technical precision with strong melody and emotional intensity. Their music ranges between grand, atmospheric passages and sharp, riff-driven aggression — always grounded in solid songwriting and dynamic contrast. Topping it off with one of the absolute best voices, you’ll find within the metal-scene, the band has all the assets of spell-binding the audience. Defecto has become a familiar name in the Danish metal scene, known for their energetic live performances and their ability to fuse modern and classic metal elements. They’ve supported acts like Metallica and Rammstein, and played at festivals such as Copenhell, RockFest, as well as touring Europe. Now they are preparing the release of their fourth album, “Echoes of Isolation” — a dark and introspective record that explores themes of mental illness, anxiety, and emotional fragmentation. It’s a darker path and Defecto’s most personal and focused work to date, and a clear step forward, in their ongoing evolution.
