Daria ze Śląska, whose real name is Daria Ryczek-Zając, is a Polish artist known for her distinctive fusion of Indie Pop and Pop music, with her more recent work incorporating elements of hip-hop, rap, soul, and blues. Hailing from Katowice, she initially pursued a career in professional volleyball before becoming a historian, eventually finding her calling in music. Her debut album, "Tu była," released in April 2023, garnered significant acclaim, earning her two Fryderyk awards for Indie Pop Album of the Year and Debut of the Year. In May 2024, she released her second album, "Na południu bez zmian," which continued her emotional songwriting with a more hip-hop-oriented sound and secured another Fryderyk in early 2025 for Alternative Pop Album of the Year. In her latest endeavours, Daria ze Śląska released the single "Plastelina" in December 2025 and is currently on an autumn/winter tour in late 2025, with dates across Poland, including a notable concert in Warsaw in December 2025. She was also nominated for the prestigious Paszport Polityki award at the end of 2024 and released the song "Aureola" in July 2025. She has performed at major festivals such as Orange Warsaw Festival, Open'er, Nowa Muzyka, and Męskie Granie.
