Coldwave is an Australian six-piece post-punk band formed in Adelaide in 2020. The band is known for its high-energy live performances that feature a blend of abrasive guitars, booming horns, and gravitating vocals, often incorporating instruments like the trumpet to create an unconventional sound. In recent endeavors, Coldwave released their new single "The Ants," backed by the B-side "Italia '06," in September 2024. This follows their debut EP "Same Window, Different House" which was released in 2023. The band has garnered significant attention, being named a triple j Unearthed feature artist and performing at the Laneway Festival in 2023. They also showcased at BIGSOUND and are slated for an appearance at SXSW Sydney. Their music has been described as "noisy, abrasive, a little discordant" and pushing the boundaries of post-punk.
