Chippy Nonstop, born Chhavi Nanda, is a multifaceted artist recognized as an audacious and undeniable party starter, DJ, singer, rapper, writer, producer, and activist. Originally from Dubai, she grew up in Zambia and now holds Canadian citizenship, residing in Toronto after a widely publicized deportation from the US. Her dynamic musical style, which she describes as "hyper music," has evolved from early post-crunk material to a diverse electronic sound incorporating techno, acid house, drum and bass, rave anthems, pop, dancehall, and reggaeton. She is known for her high-energy DJ sets and outspoken online persona. In her latest endeavors, Chippy Nonstop released a new two-track single titled 'Famous' on HARD Recs in June 2025, which includes the track 'Talk Shit' and explores themes of fame, identity, and nightlife. This follows her debut LP and collaboration "CHIPPY NONSTOP x DJ GENDERFLUID," released in May 2021, marking a significant return to recording after a seven-year hiatus. She has been actively performing, including at Australia's Pitch Music & Arts 2024 and is slated for events in London, Dortmund/Essen, and Paris in May 2026. Chippy Nonstop also became a resident DJ for BBC Radio 1 in June 2022. Beyond her music, she remains dedicated to her community work as the co-founder of 'INTERSESSIONS,' a global workshop series established in 2017 to address gender disparity in the music industry by teaching DJ and production skills to women, femme, non-binary, and queer individuals. She also runs the SOJOURN festival in Toronto.
