About the artist

Cerys Hafana is a Welsh composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist primarily known for her innovative work on the Welsh triple harp, blending traditional and avant-folk music, often described as "sad Welsh harp pop," minimalism, and electronic processing. She transforms traditional music by exploring archival materials, folk songs, and psalms. Hafana's latest endeavors include the release of her third album, "Angel," in September 2025, which delves into minimalism and avant-folk with vocal songs in Welsh and instrumentals, often featuring a trio of musicians. "Angel" was featured as The Guardian's Folk Album Of The Month. Earlier in 2025, she also released "Difrisg," an album showcasing her piano compositions, and the single "Tra Bo Dau." Cerys Hafana is scheduled to tour extensively across the UK and Europe in 2025, with 2026 live shows set to feature the new trio sound from "Angel." In 2024, she released the EPs "The Bitter" and "Crwydro," and performed at major European festivals such as WOMAD. Her 2022 album, "Edyf," was shortlisted for the Welsh Music Prize and named one of The Guardian's top ten folk albums of that year.
