About Cavolo Nero

Cavolo Nero is a Dutch six-piece band from Utrecht known for their psychedelic groove music, which blends indiepop, afrobeat, and disco elements. Drawing inspiration from artists like Nu Genea, Khruangbin, and Jungle by Night, their sound is characterized by infectious rhythms, falsetto hooks, and blistering synth solos. The band emerged in 2022 with their debut single "Seaweed" and gained traction by participating in Popronde and performing at festivals like ESNS, Down The Rabbit Hole, Into The Great Wide Open, and Zwarte Cross. Their second EP, "Nightshade," was released in early 2024. Cavolo Nero's debut album, *Mountain Disco*, was released in October 2025 and features tracks such as "Monsoon" and "Dance of the Scorpion".
