CASISDEAD is a UK rap and grime MC, record producer, and music video director hailing from Tottenham, London. Known for his enigmatic, masked persona and a distinct blend of hip-hop, grime, cloud rap, electro, and synthwave, his music often features cinematic, dystopian, and dark storytelling. He first emerged as Castro Saint in 2005 before a hiatus and re-emerging as CASISDEAD in 2012, gaining recognition for his inventive lyricism. In his latest endeavors, CASISDEAD released his highly anticipated debut album, "Famous Last Words," on October 27, 2023, through XL Recordings. The album achieved significant success, reaching number 7 on the official UK Albums Chart and topping the official UK Hip Hop & R&B Albums Chart. In 2024, he was honored with the Brit Award for Best Hip Hop/Rap/Grime Act. The album is characterized as a "fully realized expansion of dystopian futurism" and features collaborations with notable artists such as Neil Tennant of Pet Shop Boys, Desire, and Connie Constance, alongside production from talents like *Stranger Things* composer Kyle Dixon. CASISDEAD has also scheduled several UK tour dates for late 2024 and an appearance at the Boomtown Chapter Four: Power of Now festival in August 2025.
