About Carla Geneve

Carla Geneve is an Australian indie singer-songwriter known for her raw vulnerability, storytelling, and powerful vocals. Her music often blends elements of folk, alternative, indie, rock, and punk, characterized by honest lyricism and a fluid combination of genres. Born in Albany, Western Australia in 2000, she moved to Perth in 2017 to pursue her music career. Geneve has received numerous accolades, including seven WAM Song of the Year wins and the Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition's Emerging Songwriter Prize. She has performed at major festivals such as Laneway, Falls, and Party in the Paddock, and has supported international acts like Cat Power, Kurt Vile, and Julia Jacklin. Her debut EP was released in 2019, followed by her studio album *Learn to Like It* in 2022, which was nominated for an Australian Music Prize. Her second album, *Hertz*, released in 2023, explored her experiences with bipolar disorder. Carla Geneve's latest endeavor is her third album, *Don't Be Afraid*, which was released on October 17, 2025. The album is described as a deeply personal exploration of fear, acceptance, and love, inspired in part by Irish poet Seamus Heaney's last words. It marks a shift towards piano-driven melodies and a collaborative effort with producer Dan Carroll. Geneve plans to join Paul Dempsey on tour and then embark on her own national tour in early 2026.
