About Caitlin Gilligan

Caitlin Gilligan is a Scottish folk musician and singer-songwriter, originally from the rural Galloway hills and now based in Liverpool. Her music is deeply inspired by nature and her childhood in Galloway, weaving age-old folk songs with poetically-crafted originals. She draws inspiration from folk giants such as Anne Briggs, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, and Lankum, as well as traditional Scottish, Irish, and American vocal music. Gilligan released her EP 'Thin Places' in 2024, with the lead single "Fly Me To The Sun" out on May 3rd, and the full EP on June 14th of the same year. She is also currently working on her debut album at Sloe Flower Studio in Chester, UK, which is anticipated for release in 2026. Caitlin often performs with viola player Charli Wild, creating a live experience noted for soulful drones and stirring melodies alongside her skilled guitar playing and haunting harmonium. She has shared stages with notable artists like Martin Carthy, The Unthanks, and Sam Amidon.
