Cœur de Pirate, whose real name is Béatrice Martin, is a Canadian singer-songwriter and pianist renowned for her distinctive French pop, Quebecois chanson, and variété française music. She crafts introspective, playful, and subtly subversive songs, delivered with an intimate voice that blends melancholy and radiance. In recent endeavors, Cœur de Pirate released her seventh studio album, "Cavale," on September 26, 2025, following a four-year hiatus from full albums. The album, which includes singles like the title track "Cavale," “Mélancolie,” and “Château de sable,” explores themes of anxiety and personal reflection. She has been actively touring internationally, with numerous dates scheduled throughout 2026 and into 2027 across Canada, Belgium, and France as part of her "En cavale" show. This new show integrates piano confessions, pop beats, and intimate storytelling. Beyond her music, since 2021, Martin has held the position of president and artistic director of Bravo musique, the label that released "Cavale." She is also recognized as an international pop icon and an outspoken voice within the queer community, with her music occasionally drawing from her experiences. Cœur de Pirate also received awards at the SOCAN Gala in 2026.
