Blacklist is a darkwave band from New York City, known for their dense, atmospheric sound that blends elements of shoegaze, heavy metal, and coldwave. Their music incorporates influences from bands like My Bloody Valentine, Motörhead, Black Sabbath, Comsat Angels, Killing Joke, and The Sound. Lyrically, they tackle politically charged themes. After a hiatus, they returned in 2020 with new music addressing racial justice and dystopian themes. Recent news indicates that Blacklist Union, a hard rock band and not the darkwave band Blacklist, is gearing up for their 5th CD titled 'Letters from the Psych Ward!'.
