Black Doldrums live history: post-punk • darkwave • cold wave • neo-psychedelic
Black Doldrums are a London-based band known for their moody, dark, and atmospheric sound, expertly blending post-punk, darkwave, cold wave, gothic rock, shoegaze, and neo-psychedelic elements. Founded by Kevin Gibbard (vocals, guitar) and Sophie Landers (drums), and later joined by bassist Daniel Armstrong, the trio crafts music characterized by swirling guitar textures, primal drums, and melodic bass lines. Their latest endeavor is their critically acclaimed second full-length album, "In Limerence," released in October 2024 via Fuzz Club Records, which showcases a significant evolution in their sound, delving deeper into post-punk and darkwave influences. Black Doldrums are also actively touring, with several UK and European dates scheduled for April and May 2026. They are recognized for their intense and ritualistic live performances.
