Hello again comrades. We're going to release a track a month for the rest of 2025. A decade older, possibly wiser and certainly more thoughtful, Kathrin deBoer, Ricky Fabulous and DJ Modest have recorded new music that pulls at the thread that was left by Belleruche and which interprets our varied experiences through a curious window of distorted glass. And we’re unsure which side we are looking through. Released on the band’s own Hippoflex Recording Industries imprint, the new music will be released over the second half of 2025, on all platforms and in a physical format. Belleruche is made up of Kathrin deBoer, Ricky Fabulous and DJ Modest; the band was originally formed in 2005 after Ricky and Modest, who played weird turntable and guitar sets in London bars for beer and chips, met Kathrin in a street market; she did some singing over a cup of tea and Belleruche began. The trio’s distinctive sound is a self-styled brand of handmade electronic hip hop blues soul: think Sarah Vaughan, Django Reinhardt and Cut Chemist stuck in a lift with rum and a sampler. A creative, hardworking and driven band from day one, Belleruche initially released a handful of extremely limited 7” records on their own Hippoflex Recording Industries label. They then released 4 albums with Tru Thoughts records from 2007 to 2013. And now again on Hippoflex Recording Industries in 2025.
