Battlesnake is a vibrant, theatrical seven-piece heavy metal band from Sydney, Australia, known for their unique blend of hard and progressive rock, alternative metal, and fantasy/sci-fi themes. The band, comprising vocalist and guitarist Sam Frank, guitarists Ben Frank and Daniel Willington, drummer Nick Zammit, bassist Elliott Hitchcock, and keytarist Billy O'key, delivers high-energy performances with elaborate staging and costumes, often incorporating a tongue-in-cheek approach to their epic storytelling and "Mad Max"-adjacent rock opera sound. Their music, which draws inspiration from "The Lord of the Rings," "Mad Max," "Dune," and even the Bible, blends heavy riffs, soaring vocals, and intricate melodies, leading to comparisons with bands like Queen, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard, and Judas Priest. Battlesnake's discography includes their debut EP *Myths and Legends from Gorbag's Domain* (2020), their self-titled full-length album *Battlesnake* (2023), and *The Rise and Demise of the Motorsteeple* (June 2024). Their latest endeavor saw the release of their third studio album, *Dawn Of The Exultants And The Hunt For The Shepherd*, in June 2025, which debuted at number eight on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart. The band has been actively touring, embarking on "The Year Of The Snake" international tour in June 2025, with performances across the UK, Europe, and at major festivals such as Download Festival, Copenhell, Rock For People, Pinkpop, and Mad Cool. They also supported Eagles Of Death Metal on their UK and Netherlands shows. Additionally, Battlesnake announced a "Year Of The Snake" homecoming Australian tour for September and October 2025, which includes headlining dates and appearances at the Blacken Open Air and Chopped motorcycle festivals. The band also released the single "The Fathers Of Iron Flesh" on February 13, 2025.
