Barry Can't Swim, the stage name of Edinburgh-born Joshua Mainnie, is a Scottish electronic music producer and DJ known for his jazz house sound, blending global influences with a progressive approach that incorporates elements of jazz and electronica. His emotive and melodic productions, often featuring piano, guitar, and drums alongside dance beats, have garnered him a dedicated fanbase. In recent endeavors, Barry Can't Swim released his highly anticipated second album, "Loner," on July 11, 2025, via Ninja Tune. Described as a "personal" and "authentic expression" reflecting his life over the past year, the 12-track project delves into introspection, nostalgia, and vibrant energy, pushing the boundaries of his sound. Singles from "Loner" include "Still Riding," "The Person You'd Like To Be," "Different," "Kimpton" (with O'Flynn), "About To Begin," "Cars Pass By Like Childhood Sweethearts," and "All My Friends."
