Somewhere, in between dreams.... AYTHIS, the solo project of composer/musician Carline Van Roos. Inspired by dreams, isolation and death, AYTHIS aims to be timeless and isolated from human nature. In July 2007,the English label Paradigms Recordings releases Aythis' dark ambient/gothic debut album DOPPELGÄNGER. After which AYTHIS gets in contact with the French label Prikosnovénie that releases the second album GLACIA. GLACIA, paints a picture of wintry, icy and desolated landscapes. One year later, Aythis releases THE NEW EARTH which blends classical orchestrations and dark ambiences. THE ILLUSION AND THE TWIN is released in 2016. The listener is taken into a realm where melancholy reigns. The world of AYTHIS attracts the attention of film directors the same year, resulting in 3 songs from this album featuring in 2 movies. AYTHIS releases SECRETS FROM BELOW in 2021. Hidden places, underneath the earth, desolated forests..The guitars are more present, giving a post-rock feel and a melancholy that would appeal to any fan of DARK ETHEREAL. The 6th full length, Celestial Exile is released in 2024. Ethereal, between neoclassical, doom and ambient. Mystical ambience that blends nature imagery with introspective reflections, creating an evocative atmosphere that invites listeners to ponder themes of connection, may it be to an other world or to nature's elements. Celestial Exile comes with 2nd album called LOST LIGHTHOUSE which offers darker, cinematic versions of the songs.
