AWEN is a Paris-based singer, songwriter, performer, producer, and DJ, celebrated for her powerful and inspiring voice within the Afro House, Afro Tech, and Tribal House genres. Born of French and Malian-Senegalese heritage, her music intricately weaves her cultural roots with electronic instrumentation, timeless melodies, and a spiritual depth reminiscent of the griot tradition. Formerly a lawyer, AWEN embarked on her musical journey in 2016. She rose to prominence with the track "Your Voice" alongside Caiiro, particularly the Adam Port remix, leading to a performance at Coachella in 2023. Her discography features collaborations with notable artists like Floyd Lavine, Enoo Napa, Daniel Rateuke, Kitty Amor, Jan Blomqvist, and Rodriguez Jr. In a significant recent endeavor, AWEN unveiled her independent record label, Kanté (named after her surname), in 2025, aimed at fostering artistic freedom and community. The label's debut was "Hustler" with Daniel Rateuke, followed by her solo release "The Giant" in December 2025. AWEN's live shows are evolving into immersive experiences that blend DJing with her captivating live vocals, with future plans to incorporate additional musicians.
