Anna Lapwood is a trailblazing British organist, conductor, and broadcaster celebrated for her exceptional musicianship and dynamic approach to classical music, particularly the organ, which she has brought to wider audiences through her engaging online presence. She was appointed the first-ever official Organist of the Royal Albert Hall in May 2025. Her latest album, "Firedove," released in May 2025 on Sony Classical, features original compositions and organ arrangements that blend classical and pop influences, with a vinyl edition scheduled for November 2025. She also recently released a new single, "An Irish Blessing," with The Chapel Choir of Pembroke College. Lapwood is concluding her decade as Director of Music at Pembroke College, Cambridge, in August 2025 to focus fully on her live and recording career. Other recent endeavors include being named to the "Sunday Times Young Power List" in Spring 2025, receiving the Royal Philharmonic Society's Gamechanger Award, and being honored as a Fellow of The Royal School of Church Music. She is also slated to host an all-night BBC Prom titled "From Dark Till Dawn" at the Royal Albert Hall in August 2025 and will be an Artist in Residence with The Hallé throughout the 2025-26 season. Her commitment to new music is evident in her commissioning of works for organ and choir, and she continues to perform globally.
