About the artist

What It Feels Like, the new Aly & AJ single, embraces new life stages in our objectifying culture. It is a song, written by a new mother and a new aunt, about the beauty in noticing physical changes and resolving to admire them, prioritizing positivity and using family and sisterhood as a foundation to lean on during difficult mental health moments. It is also a response to an industry that doesn't tend to value women as they grow through life and represents a sound that is authentically two sisters who want to make rock music at any cost. The song was recorded in Topanga Canyon with producer Jonathan Wilson. Aly gave birth during the session and the two sisters hope that this spirit of fertility, nature, womanhood, motherhood, sisterhood and growth comes bursting out of the recording. As the lyrics state, "That's ok I'm not afraid. I want to know what it feels like." After selling out shows across their last headlining run, including a raucous hometown show at The Greek Theatre in LA, Aly & AJ will appear at several festivals before a headlining run later in 2025 to promote their forthcoming album, Silver Deliverer. 2025 marks their 20th year as a band.
