About Alfonso Peduto

Neoclassical

Alfonso Peduto is a classically trained composer and pianist known for his neoclassical approach, which blends European classical traditions with American minimalism and reminiscences of popular genres. Holding Bachelor's degrees in Classical Composition, Music Technology, Physics, and Mathematics, Peduto's scientific background profoundly influences his musical style, particularly his use of mathematical devices in composition, leading to repetitive and layered motivic ideas, often incorporating looping stations. His prolific catalog features over a hundred pieces, primarily focusing on solo piano and multiple piano works. In his latest endeavors, Peduto released "Binary Data XXXIV" for piano with real-time delays on March 20, 2026. He has also been actively releasing the "This Is Not a Piano Recomposed" series in early 2026, presenting live studio performances of pieces like "7 Hands Recomposed" and "19 Hands II Recomposed," which adapt his multi-piano works for a single Disklavier piano with real-time loops. Since 2021, he has been experimenting extensively with the Yamaha Disklavier to explore new modes of real-time interactivity and compositional paradigms. Other recent works include the 2025 album "Binary Data, Vol. 3," which continued his exploration of real-time delays, and "Preludes Noires," a set of eight solo piano preludes released in Spring 2023. He also composed "Strangeland" in 2022 for a ballet commissioned by the Milwaukee Ballet, and released "Rising (The Night Sessions, 2023)" in March 2023.
